Entry Forms
The new 2008 entry forms must be used. A third ride may be applied for, and granted if space allows. For each entry received, first and second rides will be scheduled, then if after all the entries have been scheduled, space permitting, the third rides will be scheduled according to earliest  postmarked dates. Do not include the entry fee for your third ride in your check. If you are granted a third ride, you may pay the fee of $16.00 at the show. Qualifying and Finals classes are Excluded as a third ride.Entry fees are $16.00 per test for MDA members and $20.00 for non-members at Open Shows. Our insurance permits 2 show yearly which are open to non-members. For classes 13, 22 and 30, please specify on the entry form if entering as "Finals Qualifier". All entry forms must include a check payable to MDA Inc. for the total of the entries, including fees for qualifying classes. In addition, a copy of a negative Coggins test dated within one year of the show date must be included. Riders under 21 years old must have their entry form signed by a parent or guardian. A self-addressed, stamped envelope or postcard included in your entry envelope will ensure that you receive your ride times. If you forget this, and need to call, please do not call until 2 days before the show. The show secretary will only accept entries received on or after the opening date and postmarked no later than the closing date. Entries postmarked either before the opening date or after the closing date may be accepted if insufficient entries have been received to fill the show, or to fill scratched entry slots.
Work Credits may be used to discount entry fees. One half day work credit equals $5.00. One day work credit equals $10.00. The maximum amount that may be used is $10.00 per show, and the credit voucher must be included in your entry envelope.
Refund policy
Entries may be refunded after the closing date if:
    * the secretary can find a replacement ride from the waiting list
    * or,  a veterinary certificate or doctor's note dated within 7 days of the show date is received

USA Equestrian Show rules
MDA schooling shows will adhere to USA Equestrian rules and regulations. A USA Equestrian rule book is available at the secretary's stand for reference.
Schooling show attire
Formal show attire is required. The show committee may excuse coats during extreme heat. Braiding is optional. Appropriate protective headgear is required while mounted. One whip, not exceeding 43.3 inches including the lash may be carried in all USA Equestrian and Intro Level tests. Riders may have tests read during the test.
Horses may not be entered in classes differing by more than one level at any show. A horse being dropped back to school at a lower level should be ridden Hors Concurs (HC), under which the rider and horse will be judged and scored, but not pinned.
Scoring and Pinning
Classes will be pinned to six places. The tests will be pinned by level. Scored tests will be distributed after the class is pinned. For each show a High Score Award will be presented to the highest scoring senior and the highest scoring Young Rider. For classes in which there is only one entry, the rider/horse will be pinned according to the modified Danish system, which is defined as follows:
First place - 60% and above
    Second place - 55% to 59.999%
    third place - 50% to 54.999%
*Musical Freestyle rides will be pinned according to levels. For example, all First Level Freestyle rides will be pinned together, all Second Level rides will be pinned together, etc. If a Musical Freestyle class has one First Level ride and one Second Level ride, each ride will be pinned as in the Danish system; which means there could be two first places in one class that has only two rides.
Musical Freestyle rides will be scheduled after breaks or after lunch. You must bring your own sound system, because there is no guarantee of electricity, except for the Heavenly Waters shows.
Freestyle Finals Qualification If you have won a Freestyle ride with a 60% or better during the year, you can enter the Freestyle Finals Class. Indicate on your Finals show entry whether you're riding "open" or "Finals". There is a fee of $5.00 for Finals entries.
