MDA Announces Local Instructors Clinic Series

Your MDA Board discussed at our October 21, 2014 meeting to offer our membership some lower cost clinics by local instructors through the off season. So far, Claudia Kleinsmith, Lita Hughes and Sarah Duclos have offered their services to MDA. If you are a local instructor and would like to be involved in this clinic series, contact Toni Over at rcfstoni@zoominternet.net or any MDA Board Member. Our contact information is on the Maryland Dressage Association website, www.marylandressage.org.

Our first scheduled clinic is with Claudia Kleinsmith, Saturday November 15, 2014 at Thornridge Manor Farm.

Claudia Kleinsmith has been the assistant trainer at Thornridge Manor, working under Phoebe Devoe-Moore, since 2004. Her lively personality promotes a tension free environment that helps students enjoy their journey while achieving their goals. She is articulate in her ability to communicate with her students without creating stress. Claudia finds humor in all that life with horses has to offer!

Claudia appreciates that dressage mounts come in all shapes and sizes. She has a knowledge of varying breeds, developmental stages and skill levels. This allows her to tailor lessons to each individual horse and rider pair. Her love and unstanding of the horse allows her to innately evaluate the physical and mental capabilities of the horse during every training session.
Claudia has started many horses' showing careers as well as qualified numerous horses for both regional and national championships. In 2014 she earned her bronze medal from USDF.

Thornridge Manor Farm is located at 12531 Manor Road Glen Arm, MD 21057. Clinic fees are $75 private/45 mins, $50 each semi private/1 hour session. Semi privates available only if privates do not fill. This clinic is limited to 10 rides for the day. Rides shall be granted first to members and then to non-members. A wait list shall be generated as needed.

Please print and mail completed entry form (on MDA website, www.marylandressage.org) to the clinic organizer, Shelley Caplan. For more info contact Shelley at 443-834-8614 or shelleycaplan2002@yahoo.com.
